After the Fire

“…Only if the third necessary thing could be given us. Number one, as I said: quality of information. Number two: leisure to digest it. And number three: the right to carry out actions based on what we learn from the interaction of the first two.”

― Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451

This picture was inspired by the book Fahrenheit 451 which really got me thinking about our overly informed world. As Eric Schmidt, CEO of google  said, we produce in only two days as much information as we did  from the dawn of civilization up until 2003. Crazy right?. So much information can cause us to  get overwhelmed and that brings inaction  and stillness. The challenge we now face is how to filter that information and how not to overindulge.

Don’t get me wrong, I truly love that we can freely produce and get information so easily. Technology in itself its neutral, even if we are not. The hard part is to focus on what is really important to us and not to get distracted with social media, the latest news and the newest TV shows. It is hard sometimes to take action with so much distraction. We are the ones that need to close the browsers and start doing.

Mucho amor,

Lu.

  1. That is so true Lu! I love how “free” information is nowadays, however we need to also remember to limit the information too otherwise we can overload ourselves! Beautiful photos by the way.

    • So true! overload can also lead to overwhelm and confusion…a very common problem nowadays.
