One month after getting the green light for the exhibition, after choosing and selecting from all my portfolio images, after picking only 11 photographs, after countless hours of Skype time with the usual Uruguayan support team, after meeting new friends and mentors that guide me along the way, after printing and framing in Vienna…yes Vienna, Austria…, after frequent drives from San Diego to Laguna, after coming up with an installation two weeks before the show, after finding all the right elements for the installation: corky chair, material to make a cloud and a slides projector from who knows what year, after Christiana (the gallery director) tore out walls and built a whole new space within the gallery, after a lot of nerves, after wondering how everything was going to come together, after getting out of my comfort zone too many times, after inviting old friends, new friends, friends of friends, future friends and beautiful strangers, after all that, it all came together for four hours in one night. It was a wild, fast and love filled ride.
Thank you to all of the kind friends that joined us during the journey and on that day. Making things happen together is what makes it all worthwhile. Together we can make magic!
Con Amor,
This is awesome Lu! I really need to come down to Laguna to see the exhibition!
yes! we should plan and do it together and do something fun after seeing it 🙂 I’m really hoping we can spend some time together while I’m here.
