Getting Back on Track

One more time, I need to break the ice. I’ve been silent for a long time and have the urge to speak up again. Yes, it is not that easy. I am now in that awkward moment that lasts for a full eternal second.  I have that fear again and all those questions are lingering in my head : what’s the best thing to say? how should I say it? why should I say it? is this or that the best way to come back again?  And after that the self-guilt : why is this so hard? why am I overanalyzing? are my pictures and writings worth showing? and so on… maybe you can relate.

2014 started a little later for me than January 1st.  I was having so much fun visiting my family in Uruguay and then coming back and getting started again took me more than a month. I did take a lot of pictures and wrote while I was there, but I took a long break from my computer, my phone and other must have gadgets. Believe me, you should do it sometime, it is not only liberating but very peaceful. It’s a good thing that I celebrate the Western New Year and the Chinese one. I get two chances to get started.

I got stuck with this blog last year because I was only focusing on photography but photography is not my only passion. I decided to forget the “you need to focus on one thing” advice and let myself be myself. After all this is a place where I share all of the things that I am passionate about and that make my life better, so why not include them all?

Like a runner after a bad injury I need to put my shoes on and hit the road. I should not judge my performance… my muscles will take some time to get used to this again. For now, I will do and not judge.

I will start this new year with some landscapes from one of my favourite homes: Uruguay, the land of the green grass and clear skies … and the mosquitoes that I will never miss. This is also a way to justify my tardiness as you will see…it would be hard not to let yourself get lost in those landscapes and the mellowness of the uruguayan people. As one of my good friends said “the year in Uruguay starts after holy week“(you can hear the song here).

Mucho Amor,

lu
